Advanced Wreck Diver Course with Richie Kohler
July 27 thru July 30, 2009
Academy of Scuba - Advanced Dive Training
.... you've made an incredible journey venturing off
to wrecks around the world.  You've stood on the
decks of famous wrecks like the Hilma Hooker, the
Spiegal Grove, and the RMS Rhone.  But you yearn
for more.  To go deeper. To stay longer, to peer
inside the belly of the beasts you have stoop upon.
There is more to this mystery.  More to the lure that
keeps you coming back to the 'wreck'.  Like a siren's song you are drawn to
it and now you ready to reach inside yourself, find the thrill that awaits.  There
is more for you to discover.  There is more to your expedition. Now it is your
turn to venture deep, stay longer and return with a reward that is
incomparable to measure.  This is the song of the wreck diver.  This is your
song.  Don't stop at the door, it's time to open it and head inside.  Come on
in, your adventure is waiting ...

San Diego Information

We will be doing our eight wreck alley dives off the Marissa.  The Marissa is a custom 38'
Delta dive boat. She has a large covered deck area and she is one of the newest, cleanest,
and nicest dive boats in San Diego. The Marissa is U.S. Coast Guard Ocean Rated*,
originally for 28, however, we will only have 6 students on the boat, so everybody gets plenty of
elbow room.  The Marissa has been chartered exclusively for our class, thus you will only be
diving with fellow students and staff.  No "tag along divers!

About Richie Kohler

Richie Kohler's passion for exploring shipwrecks has led him around the world to such wrecks as the Andrea Doria, RMS
Titanic and the HMHS Britannic, but it was his work identifying the WWII German Submarine, U-869, that catapulted his
diving career into the world of television and underwater documentary film making. The bestselling book that it inspired,
"Shadow Divers" by Robert Kurson is soon to be a major motion picture by 20th Century Fox. Alongside longtime diving
partner John Chatterton, Kohler has co-hosted 57 episodes of the History Channel series, "Deep Sea Detectives", and is
now consulting and producing for the film and television industry.
